The GARP modelling system: problems and solutions to automated spatial prediction
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper is concerned with the problems and solutions to reliable analysis of arbitrary datasets. Our approach is to describe components of a system called the GARPModelling System (GMS) which we have developed for automating predictive spatial modelling of the distribution of species of plants and animals. The essence of the system is an underlying generic spatial modelling method which ® lters out potential sources of errors. The approach is generally applicable however, as the statistical problems arising in arbitrary spatial data analysis potentially apply to any domain. For ease of development, GMS is integrated with the facilities of existing database and visualization tools, and Internet browsers. The GMS is an example of a class of application which has been very successful for providing spatial data analysis in a simple to use way via the Internet.

Performance Evaluation of GARP Model in Forecasting the Probability of Gully Erosion Occurrence in Abgendi Basin, Kohgiluye & Boyerahmad Province
The present study has evaluated the efficiency of GARP model in forecasting the probability of gully erosion occurrence in Abgendi basin, Kohgiluye & Boyerahmad province. After field visits, 81 gullies were recorded by GPS and surveying camera, then the map of gully erosion distribution was prepared in ArcGIS environment. Variables of elevation, slope, slope direction, distance to road, distanc...
متن کاملCost Function Modelling for Semi-automated SC, RTG and Automated and Semi-automated RMG Container Yard Operating Systems
This study analyses the concept of cost functions for semi-automated Straddle Carrier (SC), Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) and automated Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) container yard operating cranes. It develops a generic cost based model for a pair-wise comparison, analysis and evaluation of economic efficiency and effectiveness of container yard equipment to be used for decision-making by terminal pla...
متن کاملRetrieval–travel-time model for free-fall-flow-rack automated storage and retrieval system
Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RSs) are material handling systems that are frequently used in manufacturing and distribution centers. The modelling of the retrieval–travel time of an AS/RS (expected product delivery time) is practically important, because it allows us to evaluate and improve the system throughput. The free-fall-flow-rack AS/RS has emerged as a new technology for dr...
متن کاملDeveloping a ChatBot to Answer Spatial Queries for use in Location-based Services
A Chat Bot is an automated operator that can interact with customers like a human operator, answer their questions, solve problems and get feedback. Real-time responsiveness, the sense of talking to a human user is one of their good features that can be used to deliver location-based services. This paper designed a Chat Bot that can talk and answer users' questions based on their location. Thi...
